A key feature of the Calendly self-scheduling system is the ability to alter your availability for appointments, both on a recurring and one-time basis, through Outlook. Changing your availability will be reflected on the client's side, and they will not be able to self-schedule an appointment with you during these times.
To block off time, navigate to your calendar screen in Outlook:
- In the desktop app, click on the calendar icon at the bottom of the left hand navbar.
- In the web app, click on the calendar icon in the navbar on the left hand side of the page
This will bring up your Outlook calendars. By default, only your own personal calendar will be shown, so you will have to click on the shared calendar to see it. If the calendar is not immediately visible, click on Shared Calendars (desktop app) or Peoples Calendars (web app) in the left hand section to bring up the full list of calendars.
One important distinction to make: in the desktop app, the calendar will open up as a completely separate calendar, but in the web app the calendars will stack on top of each other, so keep that in mind when opening your shared calendars.

Regardless of which app you are using, you can set up an appointment block by double clicking on the date you wish to block off. This will pull up the Set Appointment window, where you can set the name, location (optional) and time frame of your time off (if you are requesting an entire day off, you must set your start time at 8 AM and your end time at 5 PM, marking your event as "All day" will not work). Because the web app as limited visibility, you will also need to manually select the calendar you are requesting time off from on this screen. When you are finished setting the time and subject, click "Save" to set the request.

Once you have made your request, your site's scheduling page will automatically remove any time that falls within your request's timeframe from the booking page.
If you need to set up a recurring time block (such as blocking off an hour for lunch each week), you can do so either by clicking on the "Recurrence" button and setting up your timeframe (Desktop), or by clicking on the "Don't Repeat" dropdown and choosing "Daily" (Web).
